In 1950, our agency's name sake - Ronel J. Dubois - began his insurance career as a Metropolitan Life Insurance agent. He eventually joined Mapes Insurance Agency on the 2nd floor of the old Springvale National Bank building (now Key Bank). After a few short years, Ronel bought half interest in the agency, and in 1955, purchased the entire agency from Mr. Mapes.
By 1968, Ronel's son - Robert W. Dubois - started working at the agency. Together, they relocated the office to it's current location in the center of Sanford at 860 Main Street. Robert went on to purchase the agency from his father in 1980 after twelve years of growing the business together.
In 2003, Robert's daughter Michele Dubois joined him and his business partner, Roger Grondin. In 2008, Michele became the agency's new owner and third generation to run the Ronel J. Dubois Agency.
